April 2010 - Hydrasun announces plans to relocate to a new £12M headquarters in Aberdeen

As a result of considerable domestic and international growth, Hydrasun, the leading provider of bespoke fluid transfer, umbilicals and process control solutions, has announced its plans to consolidate its Aberdeen operations and relocate to a new £12million development on the south side of the city.

Hydrasun currently operates from two main sites in Aberdeen; on King Street where it has its main office and assembly workshops and the other site at Links Place where it has its Hose Integrity Management operations, umbilical manufacturing plant and main stores/inventory facility.

The new headquarters will provide 22,000 square feet of offices and 72,000 square feet of workshops in the Aberdeen Gateway Business Park. The expected completion date for the new premises is December 2010.

Bob Drummond, CEO of Hydrasun said "We are at a very exciting stage in the company's development and evolution. Our existing premises have served us very well but as a result of considerable growth in the past few years the time has come for us to consolidate our operations and build a new company headquarters which will allow our Aberdeen operations to be managed from one integrated site".

Bob continued "Aberdeen is our 'Centre of Excellence' and these new headquarters will allow us to further progress with our expansion plans. The new engineering and manufacturing facilities will enable us to increase our capabilities and capacity in terms of bespoke integrated solutions including specialist hose assemblies, umbilicals and associated instrumentation and control systems for well intervention / workover and other subsea applications. The new facility will also allow us to offer an even larger range of inventory, thereby enabling us to offer both more choice and the high speed of response that our customers often need. By enhancing our overall abilities to meet the very specific needs of our customers we are confident we can deliver even greater levels of customer service and satisfaction."

Bob was joined at a ground breaking ceremony at the new site by the Lord Provost of Aberdeen and Charly Saulnier, President of Parker Fluid Connectors (Europe, Middle East & Africa) who performed the actual "turf cutting". Parker is Hydrasun’s largest supplier and Hydrasun is the largest stockist and distributor of Parker products in Europe and within the UK oil and gas industry. The two companies have a long standing business relationship and the new facility will enable them to continue to build on this, including the introduction of additional new specialist products for subsea applications.

The developer for the site is Stockland Muir, a joint venture between JW Muir of Inverkeithing and Stockland Group. Knight Frank has acted for the developer.
