Umbilical Construction

Hydrasun lay-up multiple components in a cabled (helical) format that limits stress build up during operational loading, flexing and bending offering a significantly improved service life for both dynamic and static applications.

Sheathing

Hydrasun offer products extruded with an Elastomer of Polymer covering. Our sheathing have been selected to provide durability, optimum protection against adverse conditions and value for money.

Hoses

We offer an extensive selection of standard and high specification hoses manufactured to industry standards and supplied by world class manufacturers.

Braiding

Braiding can be applied in order to provide the umbilical with the necessary inherent strength and fatigue resistance for the specific application. Umbilicals can be braided with the textile strength braids of Kevlar/aramid or other specific materials.

Strength Members

Steel wire rope with swaged eyes at each end for hang off purposes and Kevlar rope strength members are available as standard. Additional strength members can be provided on request.

Termination Testing & Flushing

Each individual hose is hydrostatically pressure tested to all appropriate standards including original equipment manufacturers procedures. A hydrostatic pressure test certificate is issued will all tested umbilical or extruded hose assemblies. Additionally, electrical continuity tests, pellet cleaning and flushing of completed assemblies can be carried out to requested standards.
